Associatedcontent.com is another site like Helium.com, Suite101.com, Hubpages.com etc where writers can contribute articles and earn money.
To start writing in Associated Content, unlike Helium, one has to qualify oneself by submitting the first 3 articles for editorial scrutiny and review. Only if these articles are accepted, one can proceed with further submission of articles at Associated Content.
One can also submit videos and power-point presentations at Associated content for publication in the site and earn nominally from them; however, written articles are the main sources of web content in the site and authors can earn maximum only from writing.
Associated content offers 3 channels of writing for earning money. They are:
(1) Performance Payment only:
When visitors to the site read the published articles, the authors earn their “page view pennies”. This earning is called performance payment in Associated Content. Under the “Performance Payment Only” category, international authors (after getting qualified based acceptance of first 3 articles) can publish their articles under any title of their own choice. Writers are paid at the rate of 1.5 dollars per 1000 page views (counted across all the articles on pro rata basis).
As a writer writes more and more articles and the page views increase, they get nominal extra bonuses at different slabs.
The minimum payout amount is 1.5 dollars only (payable at every month) which means the writers can quickly start earning money (when compared to site like Helium where the minimum accumulated payout amount is 25$).
One great advantage of posting articles under this category is that you can post your previously published articles too here. You are also free to delete the articles at any point of time if you so wish. Under this category, you are not considered for any upfront payment of articles.
(2) Exclusive submissions:
Under this category, you can submit originally written, unpublished articles for consideration of publication for upfront payment. If the article is topical and has potential to earn money quickly through large scale page views, Associated Content will publish the article and pay you an upfront payment which may range any where from 3 to 12 dollars. These articles will also keep earning you Performance payment.
But the bargain under this category is that you can’t post the accepted articles any where else, nor you can delete them.
Associated Content also offers “Call for Content”. They will specify some topics on which the site wants articles and indicate the upfront payment amount offered for it. Writers have to first register themselves to write under the topic (on first come first served basis) and submit the article before deadline.
(3) Non-exclusive submissions:
In this category too, you can submit original, unpublished articles and can get upfront payment if selected. In this case, you are at liberty to post the article elsewhere. But you can’t delete them from the site. These articles too are eligible automatically for performance payment earnings.
IMPORTANT: Non-US resident authors ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for getting upfront payment as per Associated Content’s policy. Such international writers can only write under “performance Payment only” category.
It is a fact that the number of visitors to Associated Content is far more than some competing sites. It is observed by many writers that they can earn much better “page view earnings” from this site when compared to some competitive sites. Each site has its own unique pros and cons. The authors have to find out by writing on a couple of sites as to which one is better suited for them and then concentrate more on that site.
