Promoting your Associated Content articles

November 25, 2009 · Posted in Associated Content · 2 Comments

Because Associated Content pays its writers an amount of money based on the number of page impressions that a particular page receives, it is important that you try to generate as many page impressions as you can. Promoting your Associated Content articles is nearly as important as writing them in the first place. Fortunately, there are some relatively simple things that you can do to promote your Associated Content articles that can greatly increase their page views and, thereby, your income on those pages. Here are a variety of proven ways to promote your articles on Associated Content:

* Write your articles with search engines in mind. Learn about SEO Search Engine Optimization techniques. This is the process of writing in such a way that the search engines, such as Yahoo or Google, can more readily find your article and relate it correctly to a search. By using search engine optimization, you will make it so that people who are looking for information related to your article can find it on Associated Content.

* Use social bookmarking sites. There are a number of web sites that are designed to allow the user to catalog their favorite web sites and to share them with others. These sites include things like StumbleUpon and Delicious. By bookmarking your Associated Content articles on these web sites, you will be able to generate more traffic to those articles, increasing your page views.

* Link to your Associated Content articles. If you have a blog or a web site, include some links to your articles on Associated Content. Of course, putting in these links can drive people from your own site to Associated Content, so if you are trying to sell something else on your own web site, or if you have a different monetization strategy on your own web site, you may wish to consider not linking out to Associated Content articles.

While there is no guarantee that the above techniques will create huge amounts of traffic or drive thousands of visitors to your Associated Content articles, in some case these methods may indeed help out, at least to some degree.

Associated Content now more like Helium? – Part 2

November 24, 2009 · Posted in Associated Content · Comment

Have you ever noticed that new websites just like the ones we love pop up all the time? For those that enjoy Helium these websites usually spark a big discussion on the forums about how interesting they are. However there’s another website just like it on the Internet known as Associated Content that is similar to Helium.

Both of the websites have amazing communities of freelance writers, but have different design styles and features. Simply put if you write for one of these websites then you most likely also right for the other. Both websites change for the better day by day, however the question is whether or not Associated Content is more like Helium at present.

Communities

One of the biggest ways that Associated Content is completely different from Helium is the communties. You wouldn’t really expect them to be that different, however they are. At first glance the Helium communty is very friendly, and they actually are.

On the other hand I’ve had problems with the members of Associated Content snapping at me over questions asked on the forums. I have the feeling that some of them are sort of elitist, which is pretty bad. However not everyone on the website is bad and I have met some very nice people.

Upfront Payments

One way that Associated Content used to be different from Helium is its upfront payment feature. All one must do to make money with this feature is to actually write and submit an article that the website moderators like. Thing is those moderators are actually called Content Managers on the website, and they are the ones that decide how much a writer gets for their article.

Personally I’ve made some decent cash writing video game and anime reviews for Associated Content each equaling around five bucks apiece. The one complaint I do have about Associated Content is the content managers, at times they have no idea what the subject at hand is, and turn it down just because of that.

However if you’re a writer then Associated Content is the second place that you should sign up at. Of course Helium would be the first choice, but I like to think that they go hand in hand. You can write articles for Helium and then post them on Associated Content as non-exclusive articles and earn almost double.

As of late 2008 Helium has added a Upfront Payment feature of its own that is similar to Associated Contents however it is completely different in how the system is ran. If you write articles to certain channels then you automatically get money at

Promoting your Associated Content articles – Part 2

Associated Content is a site vaguely similar in structure to Helium in that it allows us to post articles on our chosen subject for the possibility of up front payments and for revenue on an ongoing basis, dependant upon the number of unique page views received from around the Web. It also allows us to post such as photographic slideshows or videos.

As with any posting online, however, the act of creating the article in the first instance should only be viewed as the first step in making it successful. We subsequently have to look at ways in which we can promote it around the Web in order to maximise our chances of receiving a significant number of page views and thus earning a decent income. There are a great many ways in which we can do this and most of them do not take long to put in to practise.

The first step is to promote our articles on our blog or blogs, or perhaps even explore the possibility of setting up a new blog, devoted to charting our activities on Associated Content. This would allow us to monetise a whole new blog with such as Google ads and provide a further revenue generating web page. We then have to post to this blog regularly in order to keep it fresh and hopefully attract a regular stream of visitors who will click through on the links which we place to our Associated Content articles.

We can also look at building pages in the same way on the Web 2.0 hosting sites, Squidoo and Hub Pages. We essentially on these sites create mini web pages which we can employ in a great variety of different ways. What we have to be careful of in this respect, however, is that we are not duplicating content between the different sites upon which we are promoting our Associated Content articles. The promotional text which we place on each site to accompany our links must be fresh and original on every occasion.

Social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook are further avenues which we should explore for promoting our Associated Content articles.. We should link to them in our profiles, blog about them in our in-house blog on said sites where available and make friends on the site with whom we can share details of our articles. Remember, however, never to spam other users with our links or references to same – this is irritating to them and extremely damaging to us in the longer term.

Bookmark links to your Associated Content articles on such as StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious and other bookmarking sites. Especially if your articles prove popular, these sites are capable of driving a significant amount of traffic your way.

Following these tips will hopefully attract significant extra traffic to your Associated Content articles and earn you additional revenue in the process.
